About Us
DG Accounting in its current state commenced operation July 2019 after the untimely passing of Donald William Groom CPA. The original business of DW Groom CPA was founded by Don in 1972, a local to the area. He commenced the business initially working from home after hours to meet the tax needs of his neighbours and the local community. His business quickly grew over time and it was not long before it became a full-time venture. He operated for many years in the Nunawading and Ringwood area and was a respected figure in both the local community and the accounting world.
Douglas (Doug) Gray CPA as Director of DG Accounting has always had a passion for numbers. He completed his initial studies in Economics and Human Resources in 1996 and then went on to own and manage three Subway Franchises in the South Eastern suburbs in his early 20’s. Doug (who was also Don Groom’s son in law) decided on a change in career and commenced working at DW Groom CPA in 2010 at which time he undertook further study in accounting to achieve CPA accreditation. Doug worked under the mentorship and guidance of Don over the past 9 years with the view to running the business at the time of Don’s retirement. Sadly, this did not come to fruition as Don passed away in March 2019.
Doug is assisted in the business by Carla, his wife and daughter of Don; along with the long-standing staff of DW Groom CPA who have continued their employment with DG Accounting. The DG Accounting team are committed to continuing the 50 year legacy of Donald William Groom CPA, through the provision of personalised and friendly tax services. With attention to detail and knowledge of best practice in the accounting field, the team strive to give all of their clients Peace of Mind when it comes to their tax needs.
